Duende is the artist's ability to fill the stage with their presence and to move the audience with their artistic emanation, particularly everything expressed through the body. For the Duende, the poet Garcia Lorca would say, comes to shake it, breaking every possible barrier related to form and structure.
This visceral idea of artistic creation is at the heart of the choreographic showcase, supported by Ballareviaggiando.it. Open to dance associations and schools, it welcomes solo, couple/duo, or group performances in every genre and style of ethnic, folk, percussive, tribal, and ancestral dance, interpreted as the world's heartbeat.
On Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2 to 3.30 PM at the Sala della Ronda of the Fortezza da Basso, each association will have up to 8 minutes to present their performance, which may consist of several choreographies, conceived as a medley on a single musical track. The showcase accepts performances of Flamenco, Body Music, African, Oriental, Arab, Indian, Cuban, New Zealand, Argentine, Brazilian, Polynesian, Persian dances, and all dances belonging to a people's folklore.
Registrations are open until February 2, 2024.
